CheyAnn’s Foil

For the photography project my object is aluminum foil. I was very drawn to the unique origin of my item. Aluminum foil derived from aluminum due to aluminum’s numerous characteristics—the most interesting being—malleability. With malleability, aluminum has the ability to be flattened or hammered into any shape without becoming cracked or torn. To me, it symbolized that aluminum foil has the ability to shape shift according to the needs of the environment. In my project there will be a series of monochromatic photos that displays the sense of blending in with one’s surroundings or hiding from the torment of society.

Rubber Band Artist Statement

When you think of what rubber bands can do, one idea that comes to mind is that they can stretch. Although no matter how hard you stretch it out, once you release, it will come back to its original shape and condition; that is unless you stretch it to the point of breaking it. In my series of images, the model and surroundings will go through a series of changes depicting the life the model has gone through. The life will be twisted and distorted, like twisting a rubber band. However the model and her surroundings will recoil to the similar if not same lifestyle she was once living at the start.

Murder Mystery

As my object was a knife I plan to create 8 images based on the idea of murder. With this I want to portray the idea of "murder mystery" through these images and create a storyline also. For the first four images I plan to emphasize the idea of a poker game gone wrong which ends in murder. However, I will not disclose who the murder is in the images but rather create a photo that leads to the potential murder. For the remaining four images, I plan to shoot out of studio during the night and to use flash to take the images to emphasize the idea of a crime scene. These four images will be taken either at a bar or a gas station and again will not directly disclose the murderer.

Jaden Salameh - Photo Idea - Paintbrush

The idea for my project surrounds the idea of artists drowning themselves in their work. Painters pour their heart and souls into most of their work. They can devote so much time and thought into their paintings and it all starts with picking up a paintbrush. In my photos I will incorporate a variety of colors, mixed emotions, and people being submerged in water.

Stool

I am going to use the theme of hidden messages and text to further the images complexity. I will take inspiration from my John B. project using the weird picture with abnormal text. I will have a picture combining two art mediums: photography and drawing. The text will be catchy like something you would see on the back of a shirt. But it will be contrasted by the dark picture. It will be a dark picture but motivational text. Like live, love, laugh with a picture of a dead person smiling.

Photo theme (paper clip)-Reinhardt

Stress
My theme for my project is stress. When people are stressed everybody has a different reaction. Some people are upset and start crying or eat, while others clean or are very lazy. I will use different colors to help set scene, or vibe, in the pictures. I will be shooting portraits to help show emotions and the physical appearance during the forms of stress.

Parklyn's Rose Project

The topic of this project, based around a dead rose, is the spreading of joy and happiness compared to the spending of money. As happiness is spread from person to person a "joy dollar" will be spread. The "joy dollar" is a visual representation of one person's positivity spreading to the other person. Actions of people of could include giving flowers, opening the door for someone, and giving food to a homeless shelter. Hopefully, this project will challenge the viewer to question their value of joy compared to their value of actual money.

Wynn Opposites Attract

My goal for this project is to photograph things that are opposites. The theme is opposites attract, for example a photo I may take would be a sandpaper pillow, because pillows are "supposed" to be soft, while sandpaper is rough. I am going to apply this idea to all five of human senses, taste, touch, smell, hearing, and vision. I want my images to make the person looking at it feel something, such as someone biting into a lemon.

Trash project

The focus of my project will be minimalism vs. someone focusing only on money/having an excess amount of material objects and how both of these affect peoples' happiness and how they live their life.

personality from paper photo 2

My focus for my project was individuality, but is now personality. I started with the idea of people holding heavy materials , but then i expanded that more to the characteristics of different people. My goal is to convey how people in a community are unique in different ways, whether by how they dress, how they look, how they act, where they like to go, emotions etc. My idea is to make a series of portraits involving different people with outgoing and fun personalities. I will be doing in studio.

Concept of my project from a light button

Light can be used for a variety of things. One of them is shedding "light" on darkness. Seeing something in a new light can allow for a change in perspective. My concept focuses on the viewer's perspective of the image when it is in a different situation than what it might typically be in. I want to work with water, fire, and smudged glass to affect the image's look, and then show the image without such things causing the viewer to question what they might have originally thought about the image when it was warped.

Cup project

My idea for this project is to symbolize a cup by using the well known metaphor "Is your glass full or empty?" I will portray this idea by photographing portraits showing pessimistic vs. optimistic views on life and relationships using background choice and differentiation of saturation and contrast.

battery project

My idea is to make photos that represent different people's motivations. I will interview different people and base my photos on what their response to my question about the source of their motivation, featuring the person in them. For instance, if one of my models says that her motivation is religion, I could base my photo around the church.
